Xlobby Beta Testing

Postby wesblack on Thu Mar 22, 2007 5:41 am

The new beta software of Xlobby is undergoing extensive testing using Touch Screens and IR remotes, Steven and I have been mapping the snapstream firefly, MCE remotes and others into the Xlobby system. Calrad will have several of it's own remotes available soon. Available in USB or RS232 communication. You can use Calrad's Balun technology to connect them, requires only 2 Cat5e cables + power to communicate from client or server media units.

Xlobby running on Calrad's 10.4" touchscreens, available in White and Black, desktop or in-wall mounting.

The software price may not be set yet but I don't see why they can't tell us the hardware prices.

So how much are these touchscreens going to cost.

I would be interested in the price of touchscreen also. I currently have a 12 inch ELO touchscreen that I would like to replace with a 10 inch unit.

I'm looking for a unit that has backlight adjustment. Does this unit support this?

Hi Wes,

The specs don't say anything about ability to adjust the backlight.
I see this entry on the spec sheet: Automatic display adjustment
But that can mean anything from auto synch to auto-color balance.
The ability to dim the display/adjust backlight intensity is important - you need it bright when all the lights are on but you want to dim or turn off the backlight when watching movies. The ELO I have has a brightness control that only affects pixel brightness - not lamp intensity.
Hope this clarifies my question.

I Have several of our Touch screens in my home and they work fine in the day and at night. The current Inverter circuit that drives the lamp is preset and not adjustable, this may change when we move from 12Vdc to 24Vdc, providing lamp control and to obtain longer distances for power distribution, our plans are to have Cat5e, Cat6 carry power up to 200-300 ft.

I was going to order one of these Calrad Touchscreens today, I sure hope the price I was quoted was in error or it will not be easy to sell them.

I asked for the price on 95-1062WH-USB and was quoted $1350.
I can't afford to buy them at that price.

Look, I am not even sure if it is the same one as I have but sure looks the same and I paid $285 shipped from Hong Kong and it is also listed here:
http://store.mp3car.com/Lilliput_10_4_inch_4_LCD_Touchscreen_VGA_p/mon-027.htm
although it goes in and out of stock, I swear I justed check this morning and it was in stock :D, but there price is $319 + shipping and you don't have to deal with overseas shipping.

Please correct me if this is a totally different monitor as I am not trying to deter sales from Calrad but I also don't want people being ripped off. However I do admit to not knowing much about touchscreen monitors so please correct me if I am wrong.

Was the quote for just the monitor?? Maybe they misunderstood what you were asking for.

I ordered the one you have right after I got off the phone with Calrad,
I believe they have the right to charge whatever they want but it was too expensive for me. I hope the price was in error but I asked the saleswoman to repeat the price and she told me the same thing.

As far as it being the same exact model, I don't know but the case looks the same, it is possible that the Calrad model has a higher quality touchscreen monitor in the same case as the Liliputt.
