Switch button status - Is this Possible

I'm working on my skin and I would like to show the status of a couple of switch buttons, particularly "Shuffle" and "Repeat" on my status bar. Currently, If I select the shuffle button it will stay on the "switch-shuffle-down" state until I click it again - which is just fine. But I want to also show or unhide my "shuffle" text on my status bar whenever the shuffle button is on the down state. I've read in another thread that Steven has the switch additional features in the works but thought you guys might know of another way I can show the shuffle text. Please see the two arrows on my screenshot - I need both of this on whenever I hit the shuffle or repeat button. Thanks for any advice.
