"Variable set" using variables as values

Postby dgemily on Thu Feb 17, 2005 4:05 pm

Hy Steven,

Is it possible to add the possibility to use the « variable set » command with variables as value.
I tried but it doesn’t work
like:
category:movies
variable:year
value:%variable>year%

I need to use this command associate to databases.

look at this thread for more explanations : save to variable cannot save variables values

thx

I asked for that at the beginning too, variables would be real nice.

As Colby says, once we have this functionality it gives the user the ability to re-name things from a pop up keyboard.

Where this would be a cool addition in my skin is with show title names. Some times my antrenammer script fails to strip some garbage from a show name (usually due to a new releaser) so currently I have to drop out of xlobby and rename it, with a virtual keyboard utilising variables I could rename category items or even the underlying file from within xlobby.
