Sexplorer 7 and Xlobby

Postby P3rv3rt B3ar on Tue Nov 14, 2006 6:02 pm

I just upgraded to internet explorer 7 and it seems it broke xlobby... Xlobby goes down while loading browsers in splash screen with error message.

Does this happened to anybody else? what did u do to cure the problem?

EDIT: is it possible to use some other browser software internally with xlobby? or is it tied to sexplorer because of implementation.

PS How on earth we are supposed to upgrade to vista, when just browser takes xlobby down and Steven aint here anymore to patch M$ mi$take$

I dont' know about integration with xLobby, but there are some of our corporate sites that will not work with 7. We're not upgrading on the client side, but some have gone out and grabbed it on their own, of course ...

Does IE7 not show up in Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel?

Hey P3rv,

Just reinstalled XP on a machine and grabbed IE7 via windows update. Xlobby runs just fine and dandy. Same as Colby, I have a browser window in the skin (not that I use it!!) and XL just flies through the startup with no issues.

What sort of error message are you getting?

Really? wow this is good news... my xlobby hangs on splash screen while processing "browser" and it started to happen as soon as i installed ie7 so i automaticly asumed it is something related to ie7. Ill check error message later today, but as far as i remember, it was something in line with "value out of bounds".

I tried windows update, there wasnt IE7 patch offered for me :(

Also updated xl to newest exe, mine was 4 days earlier, no effect. Allthought several of you say theres no problem. im 95% sure my problems are due to IE7.

error message was "value does not fall in expected range" or something like that and object which it appears seemed to me to belong to browser...

Ok thanks that did it IE7 $hit is gone, and xlobby right away back on working!

Ofcourse that is something u should think of first, but i dismissed thought cause i thought i knew that IE is really integrated component of windows, which couldnt be removed (easily that is) without breaking the functionality of windows itself (thats why EU prosecuted, found quilty, and punished microsoft).

Luckily it turns out there was that option available, and it worked by removing IE7 and returning IE6 to service, so it didnt break anything.

Thanks thousand! and firefox for bear now on. No more microsoft total sh!t!

Ok as I mentioned on other thread my windows registry got corrupted beyond repair and now im using new harddrive with a fresh MCE installation to "jumpstart" my HTPC.

And im encountering this problem again. I ofcourse know what is the remedy, just uninstalling the IE7. But i wanted to provide Steven something to work on, cause its very clear now that its not just single random incident, on the otherhand it seems to haunt only this particular HTPC, since others have reported no problems with IE7 and xlobby, and on my tablet Xlobby and IE7 sems to work together just fine. But we cannot ofcourse know how common this is, it can also effect somebody else in future, so i decided to provide the debug data, incase it has some value.

Again my system is fresh MCE 2005, with only display adapter drivers, nforce4 drivers, nic drivers, onboard soundcard drivers, antivirus software and Windows updates including net frameworks installed.

EDIT: btw loading of xlobby stops and error appears while its loadding "Browsers" and im having this problem on last uncommercial version, I havent tried pretaste versions on this machine.

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.
