Unhandled exception?

Postby Bubblegum Bandit on Sat Mar 19, 2005 2:38 pm

I have Win XP Pro, I had Xlobby, ZP, and Winamp running perfectly fine with the heavey metal skin. I bought a win pvr 150 and downloaded the ctpvr application and installed both of them.

Now, whenever I go to run xlobby it freezes on the splash page at "Loading:setup." I ctrl-alt-delete and go to shut down the Xsplash application and I get a Microsoft .NET Framework error box that says this:

An unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will be shut down immediately.

Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

If I push continue nothing happens, the screen just sits on the splash page.

Can someone help me fix this problem? I have tried reinstalling the .NET stuff but that didn't work.

Thanks,
BGB

Ok, after more investigating....I am still having this problem. It only occurs when I try to run xlobby as a server? Any ideas on why this would be happening?

Thanks Again,

Go into your Xlobby folder and click on the Xlobby.xml document. Scroll down to the line
<startInServerMode>True</startInServerMode>

Underneath it there should be the server address command
<connectServerAddress>xxx.xxx.xxx</connectServerAddress>
Is the server address correct?

It didn't have an ip at all in it. And start as server says "False."

I changed it to true and manually entered the local ip and everything works fine now.....thanks for the help, its much appreciated.

weird bug, I'm not sure how you got a blank server setting, I add some error handling code so it shouldnt happen to anyone else.
