if nothing is showing up for those two, then it could be a couple things....

1. the database doesnt exist, can you edit the db in question, and see that the items in the db actually have the display textbox filled in with something....if nothing is filled in nothing will show up

2. your font color is matching the background color?
3. your text box button is to small and it cant fix all the text so its not showing anything

I would edit the db first and make sure something is there, oh and that text will only show up when an item is selected right....you need a category on the screen to select an item in a db.

k so i checked everything you wanted me too.. db exists, and so does the line im trying to call to xlobby (ex. display).. color isnt matching back ground as it has no characters in the "actual text" box provided.. and i changed the color to white and place it on top of a black background to be sure.. i also stretched the box over the whole screen and changed the font to 10. still nothing. i have a category set to movies and i select movies and nothing shows up.. its weird because if i select category>display it works.. but if i tell it which category it wont find it.. and the db names do match up i made sure.. (Ex. nes>name actual database is called nes.xml)

my fault I got confused, you dont need the key word "category>", i should have wrote

%movies>display%
%nintendo64>display%

what if you just try showing the time, try this in a textbox

datetime>h:mm tt

This seems to work with no problems.

If you can email me the entire xlobby folder with your skin and db I can take a look to see what is going on. If your not on highspeed, send me the screen xml file and the db...thats the best I can do....I'm out of ideas now that the time thing worked.

well this is an easy fix for you, its actually a skin thing. When you named your category you called it "Category-Movies" but you should have called it "movies" if you want to use %movies>display%, I see how its confusing....you reference the category name NOT the db name...both the db name and the category can be the same to make things easier...thats what most of the simple skins do. So just select the category and change the name to "movies" or not...and use "%Category-Movies>display% instead.
