Close/Reload Winamp and still keep it sync'd with xLobby??

Postby buymeapc on Sun Apr 09, 2006 4:20 pm

Now that I have a functioning toggle button (thank you, sagitaz), I have yet another problem.

I recently purchased a Linksys WMB54G (Wireless Music Bridge) so I can stream music wirelessly upstairs in the kitchen from my HTPC in the den. However, this does not work as I thought it would.

In order to stream, I need to run the Linksys utility and click the connect button. Then, close Winamp and reload it again with whatever music I want to play on the bridge. The same process goes if I want to hear audio through the HTPC's speakers again.

I have created a simple exe to set the audio to stream through the bridge and/or stream through the HTPC's speakers, but after I use this with xLobby, xLobby no longer communcates with Winamp. All works well without xLobby present.

(The point)
I currently have Winamp loading with xLobby. I need to be able to close Winamp (with xLobby still open) and relaunch Winamp and still have xLobby communicate with it.
Is this possible?

I don't think its possible. Xlobby seems to spawn/created a seperate Winamp process and references it (process ID). As soon as you close and reload an instance of Winamp, it loads with a different process ID and looses the link to Xlobby. I think Steve should confirm this.
