Help each other out

Very Fustrated

Postby alantp on Fri Oct 08, 2004 12:11 am

I am having no luck launching the movies that are ripped on my hard drive. I purchased Profiler and Zoomplayer Pro.
Can someone point me in the right direction so that when I choose a movie in Xlobby and then press the play button that the movie actually starts.
I take it it must be in the START assign button but I am not sure where it is supposed to go and look to start the movie.
My music plays ok.
Many Thanks

Whoa, I just saw this. C'mon guys. 19 views and NONE of you have Zoomplayer launching your movies from a HD ???? :?
Let's be a bit more supportive of our newbies here. That's what makes a board great, lots of members who help each other out :)
Alantp, it's been a while since you posted so if you haven't figured it out yet, I need to ask some questions first.
-did you download Daemon Tools (I see no mention of it in your software collection)?
-are your movies ripped as IFO files or ISO files?
-are you able to get your movies to play in Zoomplayer (without Xlobby) right now?

There are more questions to ask but I need to know if these initial steps have occured to go on.
Good luck!

No I have not downloaded Daemon Tools, I did not think I needed to.
I use DVDDecrypter so I guess they are IFO? Iam at work so not near my PC.
Yes I can play movies from Zoomplayer.
I appreciate your help.

If all your movies are ripped straight to HD - Ie still in DVD format - ifo, vob etc. Then check my tip in tips section about using windows file association.

Basically if you double click an ifo file in windows, does it launch zoom and play?

Sorry Alantp but I only have experience using ISO files. Tell us your results following Twit's tips (Hey! Twit's Tips ! What a great name for a forum group  )
Good luck!

Is ZP launching properly from XLobby but just not playing the DVD? If it's not even launching ZP make sure you have it enabled in the setup. If that's not your problem then I'm not much help because I don't use ZP.

You will need to enable zoomplayer in the File Types tab and set the appropriate command line options. Are the ripped movies local or on a network drive? I have had a lot of trouble getting remote movies to load myself. My zoomplayer command line switches are: "/ADD:%playlist%" /DVD /PLAY /F /Q

Which tells zoomplayer to add the playlist to the queue (/ADD:%playlist%). Start in DVD Mode (/DVD), play automatically (PLAY), Go fullscreen (/F), and quit when done playing (/Q).

how is your Play event setup? What are the commands? Mine is the following:

New Playlist
Play Video
Category Execute -> movies

This should create a new playlist with that movie in it which will then be passed to the File types command

You don't need to have anything assigned to the start assign

For a working example of how you might use the commands to start a movie, try colby's skins and look at the movies screen. If you have loaded your movies as detailed above, this skin should work for you. I used colby's screen and modified it for a ppc so I can select the movie I want from the ppc. It works well.
