starting a file dvx (.avi) with winamp :->

I don't succeed in planning the correct settings to be able to start a file through winamp.
going on the menu "files" and sailing in the directory of windows, I succeed in finding the file.
when I select the file that I would like to start, winamp is activated, but it doesn't automatically start the reading of the file: - (.

and possible to do this, introducing which settings in xl?

Why would you want to play .avi files with Winamp? Use Zoomplayer or VLC
