Integrating dvdshrink or dvddecrypter within xlobby

I read sometime ago (before the site went down) that someone had successfully integrated DVD Shrink within Xlobby. I think it might have been Tracie? Anyway, any help, ideas, or guidance in doing so would be greatly appreciated!

BTW, I've been able to get rid of my dvd player, replaytv, and stereo with this software. I came out with a better frontend and better quality. Thanks Steve!

No it wasn't me, but it has been something that I've been considering. I wouldn't know how to completely integrate it, but I would set it up to launch as an external application. Maybe someone else has some ideas as to how to achieve complete integration.

I'll add my thanks to Steven. I've been stb-less (okay, except for the cable/hd/dvr all-in-one box) for a while now because of Xlobby, & I'm on the verge of control via 1 remote (with Girder).

I had posted that I was going to attempt to integrate DVDShrink into XL. The problem is that DVDShrink doesn't have any dll's to work from. The only thing I could find that would be feasable to integrate is vStrip. I think this is what many backup programs use as a base anyway but programming a plugin for it is beyond my abilities right now. (Actually, I could probably plow my way through it but I don't have time for it now. Especially since I am working on other plugins) Maybe someone else can take a look at it.

I dont think dvdshrink is even being worked on anymore

After this current version of DVD Shrink - version 3.1 - I will not continue further development. There will be no new features.

which is sort of good and bad. Is it possible to make a plugin for it, yes, but I wont do it since its a pretty tedious thing to do because of the way its coded and it probably wont be around in 6 months.

the only one that I remember that could be done somewhat easily was dvddecryptor...but there was a catch...to make it easy I would just rip to an ISO....no stripping of audio streams or menus or warnings.

i just know if I add it people are going to start ask for selecting stuff they want to remove...like menus and nonenglish audio dts streams.
