Receive then Transmit with USBIRUT

Postby timwarner on Tue Mar 08, 2005 12:03 pm

Hi

Is it possible with Xlobby that when a certain IR command is received a different command be transmitted.

I wanted to do this so I could program the TV part of my remote to a brand I don't own and use it to control Xlobby. The above is required so that I can have a few buttons that still control the TV. (ON/OFF, VOL & Input selection)

Am I being clear enough?

I have tried setting up an event that sends the IR command and have the trigger for this event a IR command but it doesn't work.

Thanks

I found the answer - Homeseer

I got it to work

Using homeseer you can have an event triggered by IR and then that event transmitts IR

This means I have my Sky plus (SAT PVR) remote setup to control a TV I do not own. For the buttons that I want to use for tv control I have an event in homeseer to tranmit the correct IR to the TV when it receives that button. For the other 20 or so buttons I can use these for Xlobby.

Without this setup the buttons I wanted to use for xlobby still controlled my TV (changing picture and sound setting and text among other things, controls I do not use on a day to day basic.

You could use this also for both. One button press on the remote could command xlobby to do something say goto the movie page and command homeseer to transmit IR to the TV, amp and anthing else you might have. If you also have homesser controlling lighting that same one button press could dim your lights.

I am very pleased with it anyway
