EPG Setup Help

Postby jmb295 on Fri May 21, 2004 2:26 pm

I'm in the process of setting up Xlobby on my HTPC, and am stuck with the EPG. I've done a few searches through the forum, and wasn't able to find detailed info on how it up properly. I've been using xmltv along with myHtpc's EPG to record shows with the myHD card, and would like to eventually get a similar setup with Xlobby.

I know that Xlobby output of the tvvi files isn't complete yet, and I would be happy if I could just get the xmltv guide data to display inside of xlobby. Any suggestions would be greatly helpful!

Thanks,
Joe

I don't think this is yet implemented properly in XLobby :( Should be soon though :D Especially if we all say we need it!

I use O2Grabber(for scandinavian users) to get the XML file. I simply put it in tv dir and xlobby creates the dat file. It works pretty good, but like they say. It's not 100%

Can you post a screen of your epg Tv guide?

Lasse,

What is the directory structure and necessary settings to import the xml data file to xlobby?

Thanks

Oddly enough I am just looking into this myself.

I have been using xlobby for a while now, but just decided to get a HD DVR card and was wondering if and how xlobby could interact with it and show tv schedules such as from TitanTV and such.

Is it true that this functionality is not active on xlobby yet?

If it is, is there anything I need to know to get it running? Or is it semi-complex?

Thanks for any help.

I uploaded a jpg file to

http://hem.passagen.se/lar282/xlobby/

also uploaded the xml file. I don't know the structure because I use O2grabber to get it. Xlobby then creates the dat file.

Ok that's what I want!. I already found a site which has xml info on it (Dutch users should really take a look at meedio.nl, it's a site dedicated to HTPC). How do I set it up now?

An xml file is available (I can download it from someones site) But how do you get a TV guide in XLobby. I can't find anything in setup and in the skin editor it says the section isn't done. I can't find a spot where I can tell Xlobby where the xml file is...

u cant tell xlobby where the xml file is. That's the part thats not done.

Simple put the xml file in the folder
Xlobby\xmltv
and xlobby will build the dat file.
goto the screen guide and there it is.....

You can't modify anything cause Steven isn't done with the guide.

Gforce,

It should not take too long. My dutch EPG (25 channels) takes seconds.
But make sure that your EPG is compliant the xmltv xml-schema.
Otherwise Xlobby cannot read the xml file and it will freeze.

So it looks like this is happening with your file.

Not to my knowledge, and there shouldn't be as Xlobby can read XMLtv files directly. Have you been able to get any other programs to read your xmltv file? Or maybe try to validate your file against the xmltv.dtd?

If you don't feel up to debugging xml yourself you could send it to Steven and he could take a look when he has the time for it (he could probably fix the problem whereas I only could tell you hat the problem is.)
