Default Keyboard shortcuts? Music Data base Refresh?

Postby nemi on Sun Jun 04, 2006 5:42 pm

Ok,

I am really enjoying Xlobby and I nearly have my solution at full WAF (wife acceptance factor).

There are just two items left for full WAF:

1) Remote control of play/pause/stop/track skip next/track skip previous.
I just need to know what Xlobby's default key presses are for these global events (just like keyboard up arrow key is up navigation) so I may program my hauppauge IR remote software with the correct mappings.

I have tried searching this forum and even tried the XLHotkeyPlugin with no success.

2) How can I get Xlobby to rescan/refresh/re-import my music collection from either a button and/or at startup. I can not find an event that seems to correspond to this.

This is because I do not want to have to go into F2 set-up ->Basic - Import every time I rip a new CD I have purchased and want to update my xlobby music collection list.

Thanks guys!

The event for refresh is

category>refresh>[category name]

this should re-scan folder(s) and update database.

Your first question should be easy to solve, but since I don't use xlobby's built-in remote functionality, I'm afraid I can't help you (I use Girder)...

Thanks - I created a button and assigned the event

category>refresh

with value: music

and it seems to work (just added some CD, hit this button and volia ! they appear on my music list).

All I need now are those keyboard shortcuts....
.. I can not believe that they are not written down somewhere. I discovered UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT arrow keys and ENTER by some simple guess work. I Found the function of F2 from the newbies setup documentation and I only found out about pause/break key bringing up the skin editor because someone wrote it as a hint in one of the skins!

Is there no official help documentation with Xlobby keyboard shortcut's in it?

Actually, you could do an auto-refresh on boot-up by assigning your refresh to a seperate start menu.

If your start menu is named "menu" make a copy if it in whatever skin directory you are using and rename that cop something like "startupmenu" or something.

Then load xlobby.
In your edit menu (pause break) goto the "goto" tab select your "startupmenu" screen and make it your start-up screen in the checkbox on the top.

Then under the "item" section goto the "event" tab and assign your refresh event as the Enter event for that startupmenu screen.

That way when you boot up it will run the music refresh, but every other time you return to the main menu, it will point to the original menu and won't run the refresh command, so it will happen automatically once per session.

What player are you using for audio playback?

For Winamp te keys:

Z X C V B

correspond to:

Previous Play Pause Stop Next
