Make 'datetime>?' variable usable with 'variable set'

It would be very useful to have the ability to use the datetime variable with the 'variable set' command.

This way, when an album or movie is played you could also set a field in the database to contain the current date&time. You could then sort on the date field to show recently played items or items that have not been played for ages. This could be used for a TV show database to also datestamp a show when it has been watched - if it hasn't been watched yet the field would be blank, therefore combining two functions into one.

I would like the following command to work with datetime variable...

Variable Set
Category: Music
Variable: lastplayed
Value: %datetime>u%

Not ideal but I now have a solution to this. It would be much easier if I could just use datetime as my solution involves having to use Girder.

Works perfectly Steven - Thanks very much.

I can now add a field to an album showing the lastplayed datetime and then sort on that to give most recently played stuff at the top of the list.

now that we have this great new feature,
It will be very usefull to use < or > in the filter event ...
so we could selected just the oldest played song ( 3 month since it was played ), or the newest one.

I don't think there's a way to do that now ?

xlobby does not automatically add the 'lastplayed' field - it is something I have setup in my skin (customised version of Steven's).
So I don't think it would be feasible to add the feature you want at the moment unless Steven incorporates 'lastplayed' into the core of xlobby.

yes but now it's easy to do that !!
Moreover, the < > filter could be used to see the artist before 1980, after "H", the movies after "2000" ....
and so on...
