Loading databases, loading screens

Postby lschip on Sun May 08, 2005 10:07 pm

I'am new with this and I can't get it working.

Starting Xlobby.exe it hangs with "loading: databases". After deleting all the databases it hangs with "Loading: screens". I don't see any pluggins directory with could cause this problem (I read).

I have tried several skins but nothing works.

It seems to been very nice software for this purpose so I would like to try it.

Can anybody help me out?

is the computer connected to Internet?

Try to remove all plugins and see if that helps.

If its not on internet it could be that its trying to load weather and RSS feed.

Yes, the computer is connected to the Internet. Where can I remove plugins? I don't see any plugins...

I'm glad to get answers to my questions but in my first post I already mentioned that I don't see any plugin directory.

There is only a "foobar pluginx" directory wich is already empty...

thanks in advance

then u dont have any.....

copy the databases to a safe location and remove the databses and see if any of them got corrupt. You might have databses in both the skin dir and root xlobby dir.

Also look in the xlobby.xml with notepad and see if RSS load and http images are set.If so unset them for test.

Sorry, the databasedirectories are empty and in the xlobby.xml are no suchs entries.

What I don't understand is that when I follow the intructions (download Xlobbymain.zip, unzip it en run it (.Net Framework 1.1 is already installed), it doesn't work either. I only get a black screen :( . I thought because the default skin is empty. So I installed serveral skins and I tried that. Then it hangs with Loading databases. Then I emptied the database directory. Then it hangs with loading screens (It doesn't mather what skin I try).

I think it is strange that I can't find anyone with such problems on this forum while the installation instructions are clear and simple.

So what options do I have?

1: Empty your xlobby directory(back it up and delete all)

2: download and unzip to c:\program files\xlobby
http://www.xlobby.com/xlobby2prerelease1.zip

3:make sure .NET is installed

4: Start xlobby2.exe

Just tried and THAT works
