Colby Skin's Home Movies Database

Postby jim1234miller on Thu Sep 22, 2005 7:09 pm

I'm currently using colbys skin, and I would like to use its Home movies screen to play my avi and mpg downloads. But I am clueless on how to setup the database, and then trigger Media player to play them. Any Ideas?

I'm using Zoom Player, and I read the documentation to get basic functionality working. Others helped here in the forums for more specific tweaks or changes. My recommendation is to get a copy of Zoom Player, and read the "A Beginners Guide to Xlobby". Following that guide got my setup working and enough knowledge to start figuring things out...at least it did for me. After I figured more out I ventured into the other documentation which is very detailed. I found some of it helpful but have relied on others here in the forum to help explain the info or how-tos in more detail.....

Good Luck.

create a folder database of your home movies. Label it whatever, be sure to put all the file extensions you wish in the import filter. Import the database. Then on the home movies, screen you will need to create a category, the references your newly created database. As far as having the items load with a specific player. If by default they load with that player in windows, I think the category execute will load the same. If you want specific file handling for certain file extensions you will need to setup that with the startup file handling or whatever its called. Jowaldo explains it I think.

Good luck.
