3 Zone Audio from 1 Creative soundcard

Hello,

I finally have got three zones from my Audigy.

You need the drivers from here:

http://kxproject.lugosoft.com/down.php?language=en

Once you have the full set, uninstall those lovely creative drivers, and install these.

Once alll the reboots have happened, its time to setup winamp.

If you go to the output section of the settings, and choose to configure the waveOut Output.

Under the Device drop down, you will see these (and maybe others):

kX Wave SB0090 10k2 [b800] 0/1
kX Wave SB0090 10k2 [b800] 4/5
kX Wave SB0090 10k2 [b800] 6/7
kX Wave SB0090 10k2 [b800] 8/9

The numbers might be different depending on the card you are using.
Each one of those lines represents a different output on the back of your card:

0/1 : all channel - NOT USED IN THIS SETUP
4/5 : front channels
6/7 : rear channels
8/9 : centre / sub

And by setting each instance of winamp to one of the above you can get three outputs from one card.

If it is not working, it will be down to the DSP router. I will post help for that next.

Simon.

Hi edgley

I downloaded the driver, but I wasn`t able to configure it. I have 4 "soundcarts" now, but when I select one I can?t hear anything on any output.
Would be very nice if you can show me your DSP settings.
Thanks for quick reply.

Edgely,

Do you know if the DSP settings you have will work for the SB live card?.

I have installed the KX drivers, and now have 4 sounds outputs shown within windows etc., and have configured the 3 winamp installations to use different outputs. But when I use any of the winamps, all of them play over 1 output on the card ( the front speaker output I think ).

Is there any chance you could explain wht to look for in the settings to set this up correctly, or post your DSP settings?

Many Thanks
Lee

No I haven't managed to get it working yet. To be honest I had a quick look at it when I saw the original post, but I haven't spent much time on it since then as I have been moving from Homeseer1.7 to Homeseer2.

Has there been any progress on this? It seems like this thread has stalled. Which is unfortunate, because my installation of Xlobby has stalled without multi-zone working.

Does anybody have further information regarding the setup of the DSP Router? Is it possible for someone to post their router setup information?

GForce, are you able to help us out with this yet?

Any help would be appreciated.

I need to know what card you guys are tryng to use first.

If it is the Audigy2 Value SB0400 I can give you the DSP Router Settingfor it, but the other ones, they *SHOULD* Work with the other Audigy2 Cards.

Aha, so there is still activity!

I'm using a SBLive! 5.1

There's a good chance the Audigy settings would work (I hope).

Any help is certainly appreciated.

Now all I'll have to do is find out why my motherboard just cratered! :(

I have now given up on ANY product from Creative.
I would rather have Bush round for dinner than give them money again.

I would suggest saving up the bucks and going for a M-Audio card.
I have one on order and will report back when it is here.

Edgley,
I would concur, Creative cards are the Devil. I bet you will never actually fully remove it from your HD, save formatting and flashing Bios. It lingers like a throbbing splinter painfully infecting all it touches. I prefer my onboard audio to SB 5.1 anyday.
