How can I add "Home videos" ...

Postby m_masta on Wed Mar 16, 2005 12:35 am

Brand new lobbyist over here.
A couple of the skins I've gotten (Mediacenter SE and Colby2 notably), have a "Home Video" tab. I assume this is a location intended to place some videos (read: not movies with titles and covers and all that) . I've created a database called "homevideos" and imported the movies I have in a folder and that was succesful, but I guess my skinning skills aren't up to par yet because whatever I attempt, once I click the name of those videos Windows Media Player starts up ... but not Zoomplayer. I don't even have WMP enabled plus I haven't even set en event for the items :?
Can someone guide me a little bit for this?

Thanks.

welcome aboard,

well in answer to your quandry, there are a couple of things you could do. I have a few home movies I capture with the camcorder. I populated a database for these , much like my photos page is only they are movies.

The reason your category opens as wmp is because of file association. you can set up what program (zp) will load for which category in the setup menu>file types tab. You can even add arguments like fullscreen or whatever. Another thing you could do is make your files naturally associate with a player. All my homemovies are AVI, and by default would play in zp whereas yours associate with wmp. There really isnt any skinning needed to setup home videos, its a database category thing really. Best of luck.

Thanks for the help,
Can I set multiple categories for a program? Right now I have zp setup for "movies" categorie, is there a syntax to add "homevideos" category along with it as well? just a comma (,) ? or is that even possible?
I think I'm slowly, but surely getting the hang of it.
