Display coverart embeded in mp3 files

Hi,
I use Album Cover Art Downloader (http://kempele.fi/~skyostil/projects/albumart/) and in the Settings i choose "Save image directly into MP3 files ID3v2 tag"
Some of my mp3 files are in a folder named TOP 50 : so i can hear the new songs : all the songs in this forlder are from various artists and i put a special coverart for this folder but all the mp3 files are tagged with the coverart inside so it would be nice if i could see the cover embeded in the mp3 files when i'm listening the song else seeing the coverart in the folder ! Some plugins can do that for winamp or foobar2000 : i know that i would be difficult to have this.
The priority would be : display coverart if it's embeded in mp3 files first, display coverart in folder if not in second.

I have never heard of coverart being embedded in an mp3. I dont think its possible. Notice on that web that :

"Currently supported image providers: Amazon.com "

That is no different than xlobby spiders, except the spiders go more places than amazon, with better picture resolutions. That program is a crappier version of what xlobby can already do built in with spiders.

Coverart may be linked to an mp3 much like it is when you ripp with wmp9+. you wont be able to find the jpeg by searching in windows explorer they are specially hidden. However if you open a burning program say nero, and look in the music directory (show hidden files) you will see the coverart jpg. You can rename it or change it in nero. I myself have named all my coverart folder, because in winxp the folder will take the image inside called folder and make the dir a thumbnail view. I mean why not, I need the coverart anyway, kills 2 birds with one jpg.

look at tag&rename or Album Cover Art Downloader , you will see that you are able to insert the cover in the tag ID3v2 tag

i use Foobar2000 but here is a plugin for winamp : Cover TAG

It can read the cover embed in the mp3 files
Did you try Album Cover Art Downloader ?
it save the cover in mp3 files ! try this soft and look in the folder when it embed the cover in the file : all the sizes of the files are growing one by one

Foobar2000 can also show the cover embeded with foo_looks.dll and coverart.ski (do not run with xlobby)

xlobby already checks mp3 files for coverart...it has for a very long time. I think the problem you having is if it finds a cover in the folder it uses that one instead of the one in the mp3 file.

So if you want to use the mp3 cover art...you'll have to make sure there are no coverart files in the folder. Or I think if you remove the coverart extentions from the import template it would always use the mp3 coverart. try that.

thanks for this information. I delete the cover in the folders : i see now a very bad picture in xl for this album : the picture embeded in the mp3 file must be a .png , .jpg format ?
I see that the coverart link is

Is it possible to display a different coverart for each mp3 in the same folder (different covers are embeded in the mp3 files) : i would like to see the cover of the song i hear cause this folder contains various artists ...

I get that you dont own the whole album for these top 50 music. You want coverart per individual mp3, that could get big. My advice would be to spider these 50 songs and manually set the path to their coverart. Or even better get the whole album that contain these songs, (Now thats what I call Music has compilations of chart toppers) add them to your music db, and create a top 50 sort filter for these songs.

sure it would be best but I have about 300 various albums.

I think showing coverart from mp3 in various artist folder/albums was a great idea

ok this should import id3 coverart from a various artists/albums item to each track. So that when the track is played it will use the tracks id3 cover art instead of the albums.

I havent tested this at all...so tell me if it works.

Thanks Steven but i loose the control of xlobby ! i must do CTRL + Alt + Supp on my keyboard and kill xlobby in the process.
I succeed in creating the music database, i can see all the covers when i use a covertart in each folder but when i try ti see the album with no coverart in the folder but covers embeded in the mp3 files, i loose the control !
