Does anyone know how to replace the theatertek logo background, which shows prior to the movie launching, with one of myown?

Thanks.

you can create a background.bmp file and place it in the TT folder.

Well appearantly I am incompetent... I have never been able to get rid of the background. I created a solid black background.bmp and put it in the TheaterTek2 folder (where the .exe is located) and I still get the logo. Am I missing something?

One thing to check is that you have named it background.bmp and not background.bmp.bmp. I did that on my first try.

 It's ok. I openly admitted to it too! Problem is on my laptop I have "Hide known filetypes" turned off so I'm used to typing in extensions. Then when I went to the HTPC....well you know.

You know what would be cool is to have the background.bmp be the coverart for the movie that is going to play. Some sort of script that would replace that file before theatertek started each time. Unfortunately that would slow things down alot I'd imagine.

Now that's a cool idea! You'd have to change formats though, or keep bitmaps of your coverart somewhere. The coding wouldn't be difficult, I wouldn't think. Just edit the event that launches the player to copy the file (renaming it at the same time) first.

And I thought I'd have a nice, quiet, non-tinkering evening tonight ... NOW you've gone and given me ideas

Is there a rename command in xlobby? Also, couldn't it just rename it from a .jpeg to a bmp and still retain... I guess retain what it "is"??

You could just rename the file to .bmp, but TheaterTek would be expecting it to be in Bitmap format, which it isn't.

There's not a rename function that I know of, but there should be a way to do call a small batchfile, sending the parameter of the image you want to copy.

Haven't had time yet, but I'm still thinking of ways. Rename wouldn't have to be done if you kept, in each folder, a coyp of the cover called background.bmp, then all you'd have to do is copy the file to the TT folder ... Might look into this some tonight. This takes prep of course as standard covers are jpg, so they have to be converted, but can be done ... I'll let you know what I come up with.

So how is that theatertek now playing logo coming??? :)

I kinda had a thought... Is xlobby capable of having covers be bmp? IT might just be easier to convert all of your covers to bmp then you'd only have to worry about the copy and rename. Copy "shrek_2.bmp" to /theatertek and rename /theatertek/shrek_2.bmp to /theatertek/background.bmp.

Anyhoo, just curious.
