Anyone using an FM tuner card in XL

Postby scottw on Fri Dec 01, 2006 1:38 pm

I was thinking of adding FM radio to my setup and was wondering if anyone is using an FM tuner card and if so can you control it with XL???

Thanks,
Scott

A long time ago I did. I used winamp tv plugin. I made a category of stations, with the tvc files. Edited the database and added frequencies, call letters, station names and genres. Thats how I did it.

I use an external FM tuner that is RS-232 controllable to get local radio. Otherwise I use shoutcast and XM to get away from the commericals.

The tuner is part of a my multi-zone amp so it is probably not a good choice for just radio but the internet streaming stations work fine.

I'm using FM Radio with Xlobby...using the WinAmp TV plug-in.

The plug-in allows you to scan for stations and then creates files for each station. I created a XL database for these files as "tracks" so I could display them as a category in XL and make them play automatically through WinAmp :)

Works great and since the stations are in a database, I added some internet radio stations too.

If you have any questions, don'T hesitate
