I work in the Audio Visual Projects Team at the University of Edinburgh. One of my jobs is to admin all of our AMX installations in our larger lecture theatres. Over the past year I been putting all our AMX NI masters online to allow remote access. I have built a Remote Monitoring Station for our support section based Baddabing's old touchpanel skin. This allows scripted launching of a VNC Viewer to allow interactive access on an ELO touchpanel connected to our AMX Touchpanel Interfaces in the lecture theatres, a webpage popup that connects to the webcam in the same theatre and also connects the Allen & Heath Site Manager to allow full access to all the audio matrix controls. Xlobby also pulls up the booking information for each lecture theatre selected so our techs can see if a room is in use.
This allows our support technicians to instantly respond to problems when someone phones up from a lecture theatre instead of taking 5-10 mins to get there.
I could have done it all on an AMX touchpanel interface, but it was so much easier to make in Xlobby and it is a lot more flexible. Thought you guys would be interested in seeing some of the alternative possabilities for Xlobby.
