Hello,

I started using xlobby just before Christmas and I like it very much
especially its flexibilty.

I have lots of old cd/dvd's with AVI files on them. So I created a screen
with a browser category for the optical drive (in this case "D:\").
The problem here is that if I change the disc in the drive, then xlobby
still shows the contents of the previous/first disc unles I restart it.

I have tried associating an event (which does both a category reset and a
category refresh) to a button. But it has no effect.

Does anyone know how to do this ?
(Im using Badabing's redeux skin as a basis)

Also, currently when I try to add a directory to the pictures DB, the program raises an exception. Movies and music works fine.

Another thing I'd like to be able to do is trigger girder events from within
xlobby. I have tried the girder events, but can't seem to get them working.
If someone has an example of how to do this, it'd be gr8.

What you could do for your movies, is create a database for your colection, and all the movies are displayed, then in the Database setup (F2/Setup/Databases/) and the movie database open to edit, you can check off the movies that are offline. Then when you select that particular movie, it will ask you to insert the disk. The same goes for CD audio too. Here is a little tutorial for setting up offline events...worth checking out.

If you use XANT and the Ant Movie Catalog software (well worth it) to create your movie database, then here is a tip to add offline capabilities within the Ant catalog.

Not to sure about your picture setup, but verify both directory and file structures as it sounds like it may be an error like that.

You have tried girder events? Creating them within Girder? Or Creating Xlobby events that utilize girder commands that you have set up? Please clarify your question further so we can help you in the best way.

thanx for your input.

I think I understand your logic behind the movies database.
However, I need to be able to refresh a directory listing.
What if I borrow a cd full of AVI's from a friend?
Also, Im not worried about images etc.
Basically I need a configurable file browser interface that
automagically refreshes.
It would be nice if I could also filter it.

As to Girder. I tried Activating Girder Events from within
xlobby unsuccessfully. I can activate xlobby events from within
Girder using xremote.
