Heavy Carbon skin

I took a couple of hours and worked Baddabings heavy metal skin over a bit. I call it heavy carbon. I just wanted to see some things, and wonder what everyone thinks. Bing you can persue it if you want too, I dont mind making a few more buttons.

Colby i know that you (like me) like animations. I have experimented with a web-overlay that is a copy of my main-menu but with a lot of flash animations, i just place this on top of my menu as a web overlay and place the flash-buttons at the same place as the buttons underneath. Then when i click a flash button an event is executed by xlobbys buttons. Works great, you have to experiment a little with the timer if you want to have an on-click animation to execute before you have xlobby to go to your selected screen. You can have a very simple skin underneath your flash-skin and with normal animations the CPU doesn’t run at 100%
My skills in flash aren’t that good so now i hope you could do a main menu with flash buttons to go with your skin. :wink:

(This heavy carbon skin would be great with animations...)

Hi Colby,
Thanks for working with me yesterday. I appreciate you taking the time to share your incredible Photoshop skills with me. I combined parts of your new skin with a few parts of my own, using most of the tricks you taught me. I darkened it a bit overall as I don't want too much light comming off the touchscreen in the theater (that and blue is my favorite color :wink:

)

Colby,
I absolutely LOVE the image rework you did. The main problem I've had with the original scheme is that it is too dark for my taste.

Badda has offered to maintain two different schemes if you'd release the images to him.

I hope you will consider this as your images simply "pop" and give the skin so much depth, I love it! Even Badda's 'X' version is still pretty dark to me and not as much use of the carbon as yours.

Well its taking me a lot longer than the few hours that Colby knocked it out in, but its getting there. Here is an early preview of the skin, I'm going to call it CarbonFiber - since thats the texture used through out the skin. When its done I'll post it. And yes - there will be a widescreen version as well.

1 suggestion:
Maybe, it should be nice if it possible to choice and change between different aspects of the skin ( green or bleu and darkness background or clearly etc…) like jowaldo did and trying to do on his skin. : http://www.xlobby.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=16805#16805

One suggestion Badda :lol:

- on the main screen the background color around the buttons is a little light (almost white) around News and Quit. The background for the top buttons (Music, PVR) looks much better IMO. Can you darken it a bit?
