MPC Launching Displays Outline and Taskbar

Some small issues when I launch a video file to play with MPC.

First of all, I see the MPC window launched with the splash screen and the program outline.

The taskbar is displayed as Xlobby seems to lose focus.

When the movie is launched, MPC then automatically goes into fullscreen.

Can I prevent this from happening and just go straight from XLobby to fullscreen MPC? (/fullscreen /play are already both enabled as startup switches for MPC)

The way I do it is to auto hide the taskbar.

Not the best way, but it works. :wink:

I might be boring about this, but since it works 100% and saves a lot of problems for HTPCs I'm always tempted to repeat.

Just use LiteStep as your shell, and you'll never see taskbar again or lose focus! :-)

Hmm - neither suggestion works for me...

I just downloaded Tweak UI and prevented applications from stealing focus. I'll see if that fixes things...

I hate auto-hiding the taskbar, but when I did this, I could still see a light gray line along the bottom of the screen when MPC is launched. If however, this is the only way, is there a way to "enable" auto-hide taskbar when XLobby is launched, and then "disable" auto-hide taskbar when Xlobby is closed?

Also, MPC opens not in full-screen when it first loads - so I see the outline of the player before the movie loads for 2-3 seconds. I have enabled the fullscreen switch.

Any ideas on how to get around this? only show MPC when it's full-screen...

Bump... Implemented XLobby on another machine.. but it lacks that professional look because I can see the taskbar...

Bump

I am getting very close to a finished system on 3 xlobby machines and this is one item on my wish list. Can xlobby trigger mpc to start (fullscreen) but not active (keeping xl at front) then a second or two later make mpc active (bringing to front)

I will have to do some reading
