Xlobby's library question

Could someone give me a brief explanation of how Xlobby populates its music library. I'm unclear about what is being done by Xlobby and what is actually being done by winamp.

For instance, does Winamp scan the disk for music then Xlobby import an xml file to set up its GUI, or does Xlobby do it all and winamp just plays the music?

XLobby does it all and then loads whatever playlist you create from your db into winamp and issues winamp commands like, next, or stop.

I'd assumed that he was using some of winamps capabilities, but it occurred to me the other day that I hadn't seen any discussion on the issue and I really didn't know for sure.
