XLOBBY LOCKS UP ON STARTUP

Postby TLCNORM on Sat Apr 15, 2006 2:06 pm

My server PC is an older machine. Compaq Presario 184 mb ram. Windows 98 SE. I installed an ran the older xlobby and it worked. I just installed xlobby 2 and it starts to load and stops at the "screen" tag. I rebooted my machine and it still continues. Any suggestions other than a new machine? Thanks.

No, I have not will try now. FYI this older PC will serve as a music server only. I want to use it as a learning experience first before I move up. I need to improve my technical skills. It should be fine for this pupose, right? Thanks for the speedy reply.

I installed .NET 2.0 and it still locks up at the "screen" loading tag. rebooted several times with no luck. I'll try to uninstall xlobby2 and reinstall it. Any other ideas???

What skin are you using? If xlobby hangs on screen it is usually 1 of 2 things. A screen xml is corrupt (has bad code in it somewhere) or it is a font issue. Remove all the screen xmls then add one by one to until you find the bogus screen. Or download the skin again and try.

This is a brand new install, so I am using the "stock" skin and screens. Is it my computer?

Ok that worked. I narrowed it down to:
Files.xml
Filesrename.xml
and Filesdelete.xml

Off to soccer with my daughter. I will keep working on this later.....appreciate the help.
