What a mess. Does anyone know how to reverse this?

I have been working on my xlobby setup for a while now and I was getting close to something that I liked and that looked good. I have a htpc that I use xlobby on running at a resolution of 1024x576. Just a fresh install of xlobby has the skin looking very close to perfect for me. The buttons are the right size, the cover art is the right size, everything is in its place as it should be, etc..

HOWEVER, I just couldn't leave well enough alone and I logged on to my htpc from work. At work I use a resolution of 1280x1024. I used remote desktop connection and noticed that once I ran xlobby everything looked completely different. Obviously it adjusted to my current screen resolution. Well, I thought it would go back once I logged on from home at 1024x576 but it didn't. Everything is in the wrong place and the buttons are smaller, basically, a big mess.

Is there an easy way to get it back to the way it was before? I tried playing with the resolutions within xlobby and that didn't do anything. These buttons appear to want to stick to this small size and I can't get the frames back to where they were. Please don't make me start from scratch :(

oooh how frustrating.

The problem is resolution. IF you were to have viewed you skin at a different resolution everything would have been messed up. But if you didnt touch anything when you viewed at the right resolution it would have been normal again. Now if you "messed" with it a differernt resoultion then it will be "messed" on your normal resolution. There is no way xl would or could remember how you liked it before you messed with it.

Now a couple of things. Are you using aspect ratio checkbox? This is suppose to make things "grow" depending on resolution. So if you had your buttons locked aspect then on change and revert things should be fine. If you didnt you then things changed and were messed up. If it grew and wasnt checked you may have found a bug.

second, always make a backup of your skin before you go and change things. I dont know how many times Ive redone my skin because I didnt have a backup. There are little quarks in XL that can ruin a skin for no reason.

Finally if you have to create it all over again, it shouldnt be as hard because youve done it once b4. And all the content and events are there just in the wrong place. ITs just a royal PITA.

I feel your pain, and Im very very sorry!

OK, your going to think I'm nuts here but I did what you said and it still was messed up. I logged in remotely and the thing fit to the big resolution. I simply did some updates to the database and then logged off for the very reason I didn't want to screw anything up. I came home and logged in at the resolution at home (1024x576) and everything was a mess. I then rebooted and same thing. I never changed the skin at all, simpy database updates.

I checked the aspect ratio checkbox and they were indeed checked so I am not sure what the issue was. Regardless, I just decided to start from scratch. Thanks for the help.
