Zoomplayer on second monitor help

Postby Grooby on Tue Apr 17, 2007 9:50 am

Before i go touch screen i am sorting out my interfaces. I tried having Xlobby on monitor 2 (800x600) and zoomplayer on monitor 1 (1184x666)last night for first time. I use ultramon for the two different resolutions. I press play and zoomplayer fires up and film starts no problem on monitor 1. But when i try to pause or skip chapter etc from monitor 2 xlobby, zoomplayer crashes out and minimises in the bottom left corner of the screen each time. The video card i use is a old passive ATI9600 card. Any ideas why zoomplayer crashes?

system is a 3.2 P4 with 1gig of memory.

Thanks

I had the same problem on TheartreTek...

Are you using exclusive VMR9 as the video render in zoomplayer??

If you are (i dont use it so i cant tell you how to check) zoomplayer has to have foucs or it will minimise as you describe. This isent a bug, its jsut the way that renderer works (its the same in any new directx game).

If you have a remote you should be able to move around the screen without messing anything up (xlobby does not actually get focus).

The old overlay renderer does not act like this so you could try that.

Maybe some one else can chip in on this? i guess no one uses vmr9 when they hhave a touch screen or is there a way arround it?

I use vmr9 renderless on monitor 2 with zoomplayer. The only difference in my setup is my touchscreen is monitor 1 and tv is monitor 2. I have different resolutions specified in the desktop properties, I dont use ultramon. I also use Nvidia. What happens if you start zoomplayer and drag to monitor 2? Or try launching zoomplayer via commandline in file types with argument /f:2 "%parameter%" /PLAY. Good luck

I thought by definition exclusive vmr needed to to lock the focus to the player?

Because of this i was just assuming that this would rule out touch screens?

Colby, do you have a way round it?

I too have different resolutions specified in the desktop properties, i DO use ultramon to turn the projector on/off. also using a Nvidia card...

I use TT has the player (command line /NOSPALH /MON2 "%parameter%") and have never had any luck with it - its very anoying if you acidentally click on another app or a popup happens the video player minimises...

I used to use TT then switched to zp. I remember having tt on monitor 2 also. I think the troubles people have is how there extended desktop is setup. Is it clone, extended or dual view. I think this makes a difference.
Resolution isnt really an issue.
