Just cant connect with PDA?

Postby PiDD on Fri Dec 31, 2004 6:07 am

I did a search and read a bunch of threads that just ended with must be a network issue.

Here is where I am at.

I was working perfectly till I did a total reset of my Dell Axim.

I copied the server and 2sd files over and made the edits. I installed .net compact sp2. Now I get a connect error? I can surf the net and ping the Xlobby box.

What am I doing wrong?

Can you post the error, that might greatly speed up the debug process.

PiDD, did you say that your Dell ppc client was working perfectly until you reset it... and then loaded .net compact sp2...

Connect () error, Class:ClientSystem.Net.Sockets.SocketException:Could not find resource assembly

I am using the 12k xlobby2sd version (neither worked tho)

Thats right. For some strange reason I decided to reset the PPC.

Try uninstalling .net compact sp2. I believe the default new Win CE OS already comes with .net. A double install, might be screwing things up.

It works now!

I uninstalled the compact .net that I put on and that didnt fix it. So I did another total reset put on the /client files from the Xlobby download page. Edited the server.txt but still no joy.

So I edited the server.txt to the new format...

server:192.168.2.102
screen:ppcmenu
resolution:auto
quality:100%
zone:1

And it works!

Thanks for the help!
