switch button question

Postby dalanik on Wed Apr 28, 2004 10:07 am

I have a question regarding switch buttons (in computer terminology better known as "radio" buttons). I'm mostly talking about PLAY, QUEUE and OPEN buttons used in i.e. MUSIC screen, to select whether click on a song or album opens, plays or queyes the item.

What is the basic principle here? I tried creating new switch (2 buttons), gave it unique name and assigned events, and it just doesn't show correctly?

I use the same BUTTONS graphics that are used in some working examples, so I don;t know what I'm doing wrong.

In my skin normal switch button is YELLOW, and selecte (down) one is GREEN. But i just can't make any button go green, it behaves as normal button.... (only shows when mouse is over).

Any help appreciated.

D.

Make sure that you have Multi-event checked on.

When you created your new radio buttons, did you name it with the word "switch-" in front of it? (ie. switch-play, switch-play-enter and switch-play-down)

That is how xlobby recognizes if a button is a switch or not.

the button .png files have these, i.e. switch-button1.png switch-button1-enter.png etc. I'll try putting it into the button ID (name) as well... Thanx.

Huh, where is Multi-event check box? You don't mean multi-SCREEN ? Can't seem to find it....

I need to reopen this issue, since I have some slight problems with my skin and switch buttons.

I'll give an example of this problem.

On music page, I have "queue/play/open" switch buttons. queue adds album to playlist, play plays it, and open opens album in detail (track) view.

On detail view, I only have "queue/play" switch buttons, since there's nothing to open. But when I switch to "open" on music page, and go to detail page, no switch button is selected (since there's no open button on detail page). or if I change to "queue" on music page, "queue" is selected on detail page as weel. Those are not 2 different switches, but one (?)....

How does XLobby distinguish between several switches on 1 screen?

For example, on jowaldo's skin, in album view, add/queue buttons don;t work for tracks.... (they don;t display as pressed)... And I have no idea how this can be fixed...
