how do i filter on non standard track fileds?

I now have a little plugin which stores ratings and lastplayed times against individual tracks in my music database...

This works, and tracks now have the extra tags added to them
(rating, lastplayed and stars), these show up on the music details screen s i know that part is working.

I want to build up a playlist which is baised towards unplayed tracks and tracks i like, i can do this inside my plugin, so its not a problem.


BUT, it would be nice to be able to
(1) view all unplayed tracks
(2) all of my favourate tracks, or the tracks in each rating band


i guess i need to use a filter to do this? but i cant get it to work.

can someone explain how the filters work and what i a have to do to acheive (1) and (2)?



I have i tried "filter>music>rating" which show me a list of rating entries (1 to 5, so far so good) but when i click on one it goes to the music album screen (again ok), but when i click on one of the filtered items it jumps to the detail screen which has no entries in it???

you are not filtering. What you need to do is make a button with a custom search. Parameters = music, rating, 5 stars or whatever. I can still explain filters if you want, but this will do it for you.

Ihat is what i was after, but i still get blank detail screens.

I used

"custom search>music>rating>5"


This gives me me "3 albums" in my music selection screen, each of these albums does contain a song with a rating of 5, which is good.

But when i click on one of them it takes me to a detail screen (showing the header for the correct album) which has a blank "musicdetails" catergory on it?
