Help each other out

foobar steals focus from Xlobby

Help...

Foobar steals focus from XL when playing music but only the FIRST time I play music. I only got a remote so it has big impact for me. Has anybody seen this?

1: start xlobby
2: play music
3: Now foobar has focus and I have to take the mouse and click once on XL to regain focus on XL.
4: Play some more music. All is fine

If somebody does not have this problem can u please post your config file for foobar here. Maybe it's a setting thing in foobar.

I use to have this problem and I'm pretty sure I solved it via one of the following methods:

A) Make sure Foobar is configured to minimize to system tray (Preferences > Display > System Tray > "Minimize to System Tray" checkbox.

B) Make sure Foobar loads minimized. Pretty sure you can set this by simply minimizing Foobar, and then closing it with a right-click option (kind of an autosave), but for good measure you probably want to be sure the "Remember window position" box is checked under Preferences > Display).

C) Lastly, try checking the "Hide Audioplayer" box in Xlobby Setup > Misc.

Hope that helps.

I have all those settings already, when I have foobar to systray, alittle box pops up showing that foobar adds music to the playlist. After that XL is not focused anymore.
Do u not see that little popup?
if not please paste your config file for foobar here.

Still, wierd that it only does this he first time I add music to foobar through XL.

Yes, currently I do get the little popup (though I'd swear that has not alwaybs been the case) and like you I only get it the first time a song is added to the queue on any given Xlobby session. But I only see the popup for a second, then it disappears and Xlobby is in focus again (or at least I think it is, as my remote>USB-UIRT works fine at that point.)

I don't imagine my Foobar config file will help, but here it is anyway.

Worst case scenario, couldn't you add a sendfocus.exe command to each of your play/queue events?

What event(s), exactly, trigger Foobar to grab focus? I just remembered making this post a while back. Perhaps you are experiencing the same thing.

You're right  XL is not in focus. I've been using a touchscreen (or a remote with my USB-UIRT) for the last six months, so it's a moot point for me and I hadn't noticed it.

Again, though, couldn't you add a sendfocus command at the end of all your play/queue commands? Not an elegant solution, but it should work until the foobar plugin works properly.

Added a bug entry in the bug forum.don't want to send a focus since its only the first time it happens.
