off topic.OnresumeSuspend in Girder

Postby lar282 on Tue Jun 08, 2004 8:59 pm

Has anybody used this. I use girder 3.2.9 and it just wont work. For simplicity I just try to start a notepad.exe when the computer returns from hibernate.

Is there any other way of running a command when the computer returns from hibernate/standby. I need to start my projector when this occours. Thought girder should do it but noop. Can't find much in girder forum

Hello,

I just tested the same test as you :
- a command calling notepad
- learn the OnResumeSuspend

and it works...

Have you enabled the input plugins (F9)?
When you go to hibernate, did you see the onstandby?
Have you tried the OnResumeStandby ?

wierd. Doesn't do anything for me. I read in the girder forum that people had trouble with it. The onresume command didn't get sent until u press a key or something.

What version are u using of girder?
Can I have your test gml file. Maybe I did something wrong

Hi again. Can u check your version again and see if u have 3.2.9.0. Maybe it's another build number. I just right clicked on the exe file and version number.

Thanks

Try to disable all plugins. And see if there are no conflict

Did you test it with hibernate (it is the way I tested) ?

tried witout any plugins. Still no go. It works with OnSuspend but not with OnResumesuspend.

also tried on a different computer but there it works, so it's a local problem.

About a year ago, I tried and tried and never got it to work...after putting in about 20 hours on the problem, I finally gave up.

Lasse,

Tried it on my computer.

onresumestandby - does not work
onresumesuspend - works BUT if i do not have a onsuspend event then the resume does not work.

I have the problem that my uirt2 does not work from stand-by so i trigger the disable input device onsuspend AND enable onresumesuspend.

Have just tried with notepad and no problem.

Tried the badubo file and if i use it on its own then it also works!!!

Some motherboards do not conform to APM events correctly.

Later
Simon.

I'll find another way. There HAS to be a registry key that controls if the machine just woke up or not. If I find that I can control it.

Right now I just have to press a button on the remote instead to fire up the projector, but it's always fun to have everything set to auto.

did anybody ever get this to work...I am still unable to make it work on my HTPC (works fine on other PC's I have)...any other alternate path folks have seen outside of the girder commands.

thanks,
