getting events to trigger off of ir

i've been messing with xlobby for a day now trying to get the basic ir setup... my commands are learned and are acknowledged on the ir setup screen as i press the buttons on the remote, the software highlights the appropriate command...

problem is i can't get the ir linked to the events. i've been trying to get the basic up/down/left/right to trigger, but no joy. when i use the test button the menu reacts to the command, but nothing off the default ir triggers.

my ir codes seem to be ok. i've even learned several dvd commands and can use the ir transmit function which does send commands to the player...

i'm working off of a new installation for whatever that's worth. any help would be tremendously appreciated.

looks like all the warnings about using the latest rev of the software is true... i reinstalled the full download package and overwrote the 4 files that were included in the latest build, and now the ir is working!

hope this helps someone else anyway.
