Does XLobby have support for importing DVD/BD?

I am building a new HTPC and trying to decide what front end to use. My question is, does XLobby have a way to import DVDs and Blue-ray discs to my HD, or do I need another program for that. And if it does, will whatever format it imports them in play through Power DVD?

XL has a widget that rips DVDs that I have never used but I assume it works. It won't work on Blu-Ray disks. You need third party software for that and I am not sure of its legality, depending on where you are. I think PowerDVD will launch a DVD from its Video_TS.IFO file and that will play. However the newest versions of PDVD won't play ANY Blu-Ray files off of a hard drive. You have to burn those to an ISO and then mount them with Daemontools, which will also work for DVDs. I suggest you also consider Zoomplayer which is better integrated into XL and offers more choices for remote controls. Good luck!
