For first-timers this step-by-step procedure may help. As Arthur posted, the Xlobby program guide requires the file xmltv.xml to be placed in the xmltv folder. There are several programs available for downloading TV program listings from the internet and saving the data in xml format. o2grabber seems to be popular in Europe, but does not currently support North America. I'm using the freeware program xmltv. I used the following steps to configure xmltv:
1) Download xmltv from
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfile ... p_id=39046
The home page for xmltv is at:
http://membled.com/work/apps/xmltv/
2) Extract the files from xmltv.zip to a folder of your choice. I chose C:\program files\xmltv.
Read the quickstart quide located in doc\Quickstart.txt to find the recommended grabber script for your country. For the USA, I'm using tv_grab_na_dd. The grabber scripts are included with xmltv.
3) Configure xmltv by opening a Windows command shell (click on Start > Run and enter "cmd").
At the command prompt type:
xmltv.exe your_grabber --configure
For example:
xmltv.exe tv_grab_na_dd --configure
Follow the prompts for entering your time zone and other information.
You may need to signup for an account at Zap2it depending on which
grapper you use. It so, the xmltv program will specify which web site to
sign up at. For the USA, I signed up at
http://labs.zap2it.com/
4) Now that xmltv is configured, type the following in the command shell:
xmltv.exe your_grapper > xmltv.xml
For example:
xmltv.exe tv_grab_na_dd > xmltv.xml
This may take a few minutes to complete. Your program quide is now saved in the file xmltv.xml.
6) Copy the program guide xmltv.xml to the C:\Program Files\Xlobby\xmltv folder.
7) Start XLobby and you should see the program guide!
Hope this helps.
