Changing the server's screen with the client

I know with the client you can use mimic so that the server and client mirror each other, but how do you use the client to change just the server's screen? For example, I like to use my client as a navigational remote control, so how do I use my client to change the server from the menu screen to the movie screen, while not getting out of the remote interface on my client touchscreen? Are the trigger commands used?

no there are no commands to do that, basicly you want to send gotoscreen commands to the server and leave the client on its current screen?

Couldn't it be done with hidden buttons/screens so that for instance, from the select movie it starts the movie playing which opens the theatretek ov erlay and on the server the movie starts, but from the same start movie command you jump to a hidden "control theatretek" screen on the ppc?

This would be a great feature for PPC users.

I'd love just to see an exact duplicate...
thus, the PPC becomes a dual image of what is on the XL HTPC's screen. this allows for a true remote control without needing any special screens or commands built. the only thing that would need to diverge from this would be when playing video, the PPC screen would need a custom screen for controls.

Aaron, this has been a feature for a while with the mimic mode. Well, not exactly a duplicate on the ppc screen (as the buttons would be too small) but it would be an exact duplicate if you used a pc as a client.
And yes Steven a "goto server screen" type command would be what I was looking for.

This would make the client an even more powerful remote control.

cool... did not know that.
my "PPC" is 800x600 so I'm not worried about the button size at all.

I do agree that a command would be good for sending instructions to the server.
