TV and EPG

hello,

Has anyone implemented a TV card in xlobby. I was thinking of the following programs:
- Sage TV
- Beyond Tv
- Got TV (free)
- Fly 2000 TV
- Original terratec software

I think I will use Got TV, as it was originally made as plugin for myHTPC, so I hope it will easily fit in xlobby.
has anyone some tips on how to start?

I also would like to use an epg. The one which is included in xlobby isn't finished yet and therefore, I need an oher program, which can handle more channels and which can load an external xml file from the internet once a day. Any sugestions?

I got a tv card in mine and using dscaler. Xlobby does not have any plugins for tv apps, so pick the one u want and execute with a os command. make sure it's on top.

EPG: xlobby right now uses a xml file that u place in a directory. I use O2Grabber to create the xml file everyday. Works great. Will work super great when Steven is done with the EPG section

I tested K!Tv and I made a Tv page with channel and volume change as well as On/OFF...

In fact it started as a Tv page for Colby skin using brand new WDM compatible K!Tv version ( http://members.lycos.co.uk/develo/viewtopic.php?t=2333 in French).

I can translate the following webpage and the "plug-in" in English (it's in French for the moment but screenshots are quite self-explanatory ) if someone is interrested...

I'm very ineterested in the girder file as well. My french isn't real good, but that wont be a problem. Can you put the skin somewhere where I can download it? And maybe a screnshot of the final result. Its very nice is someone has already found a solution for a problem

What do you mean by "I'm very ineterested in the girder file as well" ???
Girder itself or a GML file ? If you meant Girder I can put it on download but if you meant a GML file I'm sorry there is none made by me
I only used Girder to get the parameters to put into XLobby configuration tool

I will try to publish a screenshot ASAP (but as I'm at work it's not possible right now ).

What's the benefit of K!tv and the girder config? I don't understand french either?

I use K!Tv because :
- I always use K!Tv (for ages)
- IMHO it's the best tv software ever...
- I made integration of K!Tv in myHTPC as well
- K!Tv is an Open Source (GPL) software
- I succeeded in integrating almost completely it into XLobby (waiting for EPG to come out in XLobby )
...
Shall I continue ?

Actually, I thought you used girder to control k!tv (send an event from xlobby to girder and from girder to k!tv). Well, I will look into it this week-end (I hope). I do understand the benefit of an integrated TV section. From your other post I understand that it does not contain somekind of epg.

Do u know if the picture quality is as good as with Dscaler? If so I might try it, cause it sounds good.

Yes the image quality is at least as good as DScaler
In fact K!Tv uses some DScaler stuff (Filters, Deinterlacing and Bt8x8 drivers) but is more flexible, more simple and more powerfull

No, as a matter of fact Xlobby control K!Tv compeltely... I only use Girder to find the right parameters

From your other post I understand that it does not contain somekind of epg.

Not inside XLobby for the moment but K!Tv uses nxtvEPG.

The K!TV software is not compatible with Happauge PVR-350 if I understand the information given in the documents for the program...

Anyone know if it's going to be supported?

In fact it should... in WDM mode and only with the most recent beta version...

you asked me how to do the EPG TV integration? Well the second half you have here. Either Xlobby with sendmessage or Via girder sends commands to your chosen TV software. Like change channel to the epg item you are currently on etc etc.

The EPG half you do with MyHTPC or TVHOLIC ( just the EPG ) and a modified version of the supplied windows script. There were loads made for the various TV software combinations. This is what is going on here.

I dont understand the second half, do you mean that you use myHTPC EPG inside xlobby or did I misunderstand you?
