Zoomplayer help

Postby bbig119 on Thu Oct 27, 2005 11:13 pm

Hello,

I'm very new to Xlobby, but I'm trying to get the basics working before I try doing anything more advanced. I want Xlobby to manage my music, interface with a TV program(Sage most likely), and play DVDs(most of them unripped at this point).

I've got Naylia's XLobbyMC Skin, because it apparently matches well with Sage and has some of that stuff presetup. I'm haven't tried to setup sage yet, my problem is with playing DVDs.

So I've read the beginners guide, and with the skin installed it seems that DVDs should work almost right out of the box. Zoomplayer is installed, and its listed under filetypes-- it all looks good; the problem is that when I navigate in the menu system and ask it to play disc, it stars zoom player and zoom player is trying to play some avi that I deleted a while ago. I found that it has a playlist of sorts, and cleared that out, but it still doesn't start the DVD-- its still looking to that directory.

A little more information, I had the new beta of Sage installed on the computer and it recorded a bunch of shows in this particiular directory, and the file it is trying to load is one of those recorded shows. Sage has been uninstalled, zoom player uninstalled and reinstalled with not changes to the problem above. I will install a version 2.something version of Sage to get my tv recording back on track.

Any suggestions?

If you push the 'Play DVD' button, as if you were to play a dvd in a disk drive, the event is tied to a specific drive. It should be quite easy to modify.

Press F2 to open setup menu
Goto events
In left hand box, open skin, then open movies, then find the Play DVD event.
Expand it
Look at the differnt actions it performs...one should be a commandline with your dvd-rom drive letter needed. You probably have a differnt drive letter set up than me.

Thanks for that short tip-- I got it working so that it starts zoomplayer and looks to start the DVD. However it seems that everytime I try to start it this way, it asks me to re-enter my playback settings(decoder, postpossesing, etc). Is there a reason why it does this? Can I make it go away? It doesn't happen when I start zoomplayer manually or pop in a disc from the drive, but once I use xlobby to start zoomplayer to play a dvd it will ask for settings from there on out no matter how I start zoomplayer until I re enter them.

I have the same problem with Zoom Player, but not on my HTPC, but on my normal PC :-) Weird. I never figured that one out, even tried reinstalling Zoom, but it didn't help (I don't watch movies on my regular PC anyway, so it's not a problem for me)
