ppc as ir remote in xlobby

Has anyone in corporated their ppc control of xlobby to include ir control of other equipment such as hi-fi, tv, video, dvd player under a different program such as netcontrol or winpda. I thought it would be really smart to have an xlobby area where you could run another program like one of these so you could in my case change the volume of the hi-fi thats connected to the pc with one remote the ppc.

You can do that if you use a USB-UIRT I believe directly from xlobby. I just ordered mine so I don't know for sure, but I believe that's possible.

I am using my ppc to send (via xlobby) commands to girder and then girder will execute the ir command via the usb-uirt.

It is relatively straight forward (well, as straight forward as anything with gircer can be). Create a button on your ppc skin to send a girder command. Have that girder command execute an ir signal via the usb-uirt - this can include macros if you use a multigroup command.
