Help each other out

xlobby2sd not starting

Postby another_bob67 on Mon Dec 20, 2004 7:39 am

I am getting the following error when I try to run xlobby2sd on my ipaq 4155.

Connect() error, Class:ClientSytem.Net.Sockets.SocketsExeption:Could not find resources assembly

I have servers.txt as follows and have tried just about all the other examples as well:

Code: Select all
server:192.168.0.103
screen:ppcmenu
resolution:auto
quality:100%
navigationpad:true
unbindbuttons:340,300

I found the post about the 4705 that has the link to test the .Net install and have run that and it works.

http://www.ipaqhq.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10339

I am running a firewall and have ports 8000 and 8001 open.

So what am I doing wrong?

Ok, I don’t get the error anymore (I was using the 12Kb xlobby2sd file not the 44 Kb version) but it still doesn’t work.

When I start the xlobby2sd and have the ip address set to 192.168.0.103 in servers.txt the PPC will freeze and I have to power down to get it working again. If I change the address in servers.txt to 192.168.0.xxx (anything but 192.168.0.103) then it tells me it can’t find the server. If I delete the servers file it tells me it can’t find the servers file. I’ve disabled the firewall and tried all of this too.

Servers.txt currently looks like this:

Code: Select all
server:192.168.0.103
screen:ppcmenu

I have it working now. I changed the servers file to:

Code: Select all
screen:ppcmenu
server:192.168.0.103

and it started working. I don't have a answer for how or why this change made a difference.
