XiVo - RELEASED - v0.1

Postby gamejester on Fri Feb 18, 2005 5:06 pm

OK, well it's been a long time coming but I am finally ready to release the skin I have been working on.

I am currently working on the support documentation and making things more generic. I will test things using clean XP builds later to ensure I do not leave any machine specific hard coding in any of my scripts.

Here is a v0.1 screenshots, scroll down for the download.

The first release is a widescreen 16:9 1280p format in just the one colour - purple. It is designed to be driven from an IR remote using Girder with the supplied GML file located in the commands DIR. It also heavily uses custom batch files and vbscripts for the TV series pages, best to wait until I have finished the docs before you play with them too much!

I use custom settings on the File Types association TAB which I will explain in my documentation, in the mean time here is a copy of my types.xml if you want to see what they are, right click the link and 'save As'

http://www.xlobby.com/files/XiVo/types.xml

why have I grabbed the first 3 replies?
So that I have room to always post the most current information at the head of the thread.

Known Bugs:

1. Sort order of series episodes by import date orders episodes with no date at the top of the list. FIXED

2. Filters not implemented on DVD or Music pages

3. Delete, problem with category alteration with delete. Currently it will delete the program from your Hard Drive and remove it from the current view, but the underlying xml database remains unchanged so the view will revert when re-loaded.

4. Winamp jumps into focus when you toggle the visualisation off, this maybe to do with the WinAmp no closing on exit bug.

5. Pausing or Stopping music playback with visualisation running (milkdrop) makes the processor run at 100%

Feature Development:
1. Sort filtered lists of shows differently than main show list, ie by episode number - Requires code change from Steve.
UPDATE: Steve's done his part, thanks

2. Allow users to alter category item details and file names from a virtual keyboard overlay - Requires Steve to implement the passing of variables to the Set Item command.
UPDATE: Steve's done his part, thanks

3. 4:3 1024x768 version.

4. Multiple colour schemes.

5. GUI based altering of setup, switch resolution, colour scheme etc automatically via underlying scripts.

Feature Requests:

None yet :D

Maybe I'm stepping in troll crap... or sarcasm.. or whatever....

Polish... as in:
1. To make smooth and shiny by rubbing or chemical action.
2. To remove the outer layers from (grains of rice) by rotation in drums.
3. To free from coarseness; refine: polish one's manners.
4. To remove flaws from; perfect or complete: polish one's piano technique; polish up the lyrics.

:)
