Heavy Metal remote navigation help

Postby Natemere on Tue Jan 10, 2006 8:16 pm

I am in the process of making my Heavy Metal skin user friendly. I have run into one problem.
When I choose a track/song the window opens giving me the option to play, que, cancel, que cd, etc. and Play is hilighted but I can't navigate with my remote until I mouse over one of the options, and then my remote works like it should. Any ideas?

It sounds like you need to tick the default option for your Play button,
under the default tab of the skin editor.

I don't think that was the problem. the play button is ticked and it appears as if it is active because it is red instead of blue. The inactive buttons are blue. but select from my remote doesn't do anything, and neither does navigation.

If I move my mouse over any of the buttons then it is like the screen comes to the front because I can then use my remote to select or navigate up and down

to clarify I don't even click the mouse buttons. Only move the cursorover the play, que, cancel, etc. and then the remote does work.

Ideas?

Something I thought might be significant is that when I use skin editer to go to this screen the CATEGORY tab can not be adjusted.
Please help, this seems to be one of my last hurdles to using my remote with Heavy Metal WS.

I got it. I had to change the event overlay from global overlay to abc overlay. what that means I have no idea but that solved my problem
