importing playlist

Postby d0ubled0wn on Wed Oct 05, 2005 1:50 pm

Win XP
PPC & Tablet PC
Burlwood skin
latest EXE
winamp ( mp3's)

I have made some playlists using iTunes OK I save them to the playlists folder under my Xlobby directory. they sometimes show up after a reboot and sometimes they dont. when i look at the category for m3uplaylists the database it points to is "m3uplaylists" however in set up screen there is no category named "m3uplaylists" so I make one, I name it "m3u" I import my playlist folder I get it to show up on a category in a test page now when I click a playlist it launches a new instance of winamp!!!!

questions

1)where is the "m3uplaylists" database located if there is one
2)if there isnt one how can the "m3uplaylists" category be refreshed without having to reboot and yet more important having it refresh correctly everytime

It should work like music or movies, you add something you refresh and its there.

even though XL is an excellent choice for my set up I beleive we should have the flexibility of making a playlist and importing it

-=This is pure curiosity=-

if there is no category that holds the playlists how does XL know where to find the playlists and load them into that category named "m3uplaylists" and then show the contents , why does it name them "playlist1" "playlist2" I can rename them I guess I want to understand the way XL works.

Thanks
