How to retrieve an HTML sentence from HS to show it in XL

Postby blopa26 on Sat Mar 03, 2007 1:58 am

Hi,

I want to retrieve an HS variable that has an HTML sentence (basicaly an icon) and show it in an XL screen as an icon.

I know how to retrieve a text from an HS variable and show in XL. In fact when I show the HS variable I want, instead to show the icon, it is showing the HTML sentence as text in XL.

Could someone tell me how to show the icon?

Thanks in Advance,

Blopa26,

I think the plugin should be able to handle this, but to be sure can you give me an example of the HTML string that you want to display an icon for?

Fletch,

The HTML code is the following:

<img src="/images/weathercom_xml/32x32/34.png">

I am retrieving HS variables to show in XL... Some of them are in pure text format and others in HTML format in order to show them as an icon or graphic.

Please I will appreciate your help.

Thanks in Advance, Pablo.

Fletch,

May be the issue is to have the right "relative" directory where the images are stored... I'm assuming that where XL is installed is the "Master Directory", so "/Images/X.png" is related to this directory... But when I write this in the variable that I'm retrieving from the XSeer Plugin, only the text is what I'm seeing and not the icon...

Can you help me to understand if this assumption is correct or no?... And if the answer is no, please what must be the assumption...

Thanks in Advance,

Pablo,

I was looking into this briefly, unfortunately I don't think it will work just yet. It's a very reasonable request though so I'll look into adding this. I must admit I've kind of back burnered the plugin for the last couple of months. The reason being I've been busy doing a few other things, and with the overall state of xlobby the past couple of months the motivation was lacking. However with all the recent anouncements I'm getting a good feeling about the direction that xlobby is taking. There are still quite a few questions to be answered but I'm hopeful. Anyway I'm not going to be able to look at anything for the next week or so, but maybe by the end of next week I can let you know.

Fletch, First of all, Thanks for your help!... Second, Take your time. I understand your situation and obviously I can wait...

What is a surprise for me is what you say about XLobby, about the last couple of months and the recent announcements... Did I miss something?

Thanks in Advance,

Slider Control ??

Fletch,

Thanks for a great plugin :-)

The real thing though that is missing for me is a slider control linkage for devices - say for light dimming. Something that you can click/slide and also moves itself when the HomeSeer device level changes. I know it was mentioned before.... any chance ??

I grabbed the Lighting screen from the XL pre-release to use with Xseer. Since we don't have sliders, I set some dim and brights to increment 20% per click. Others just preset to 1 value.

Is anyone still using this plugin? If so could you send me an email through the board.
Thanks,

Does this work with Homeseer v1.7?

No. It requires HS2's Speaker app as the connector.
