xlobby and girder for dummies

Postby rtarver on Sat May 15, 2004 7:41 am

Ok, I give. I've been searching the archives and reading everything I can find on having Xlobby activate a Girder command. If there is anybody out there willing to walk me through, I'd appreciate it.

I have an HK receiver connected via rs232 to my htpc. I also have a full set of girder commands that control all the functions of the receiver I need. I have been adding events through event manager to test things. The first thing I did for testing was to assign my "HK Power on" event to the Volume Up button in the Skin | music folder... as a simple test mind you.

I get no response out of my receiver, and I know the girder commands work standalone. I've been pulling hair and banging my head for two days now. Soon I will be bald with a flat nose unless somebody can point me in the right direction.

Thankfully,

Russ

Check out my post.

Do everything i suggest in the post.

If you look into the goto:music event in xlobby you will see that it triggers the 'music on' event in girder.

The GML file for download has communication going both ways - x to girder & girder to x.

Its a demonstration of enable/disable in girder but you will see how to trigger girder.
