Pre28 Problems

Postby TonyNo on Mon Sep 06, 2004 5:26 pm

I just found and installed XLobby, and have a problem. Installing pre28 starts troubles with Winamp (errors out when I even enter the path). The fonts also have turned smaller than the initial install. Is this normal?

Also, can XL only work with a Winamp instance that it launched?

Tony,

Xlobby will only work with the winamp that it launches. If you close winamp and reload it while xlobby is running then xlobby falls over.

Try manualy inserting the path to winamp in the xlobby.xml file.

Example:
<audioplayers>
<audioplayer volume="64">C:\Program
Files\Winamp\winamp.exe</audioplayer>
</audioplayers>

Does the skin you are using have a resource folder? With a fonts.xml file in it.

Thanks, Twit. Xlobby.xml already has the correct enrty. Are there any command line parameters used when launching Winamp?

I'm using the default skin.

Since xlobby2.zip does not reference a release number, I didn't know what to call it. I have installed that. This file should bring me into the current version?

Thanks. Maybe this info is necessary... In Winamp, I use the Browseamp plugin for web access. It is a Browseamp error that I am getting. This is why I was asking if Winamp is launched with any command-line param's, since launching it normally does not cause any errors.

I installed foobar, and it launches fine, but I cannot play any songs from within XL. The Music page shows that the song is selected, but, hitting play does not do anything. Also, when I switch to foobar, it has a blank playlist.

Tony,

Stupid question - You did put the foobar plugin (foo_xlobby.dll) in the foobar\components directory and the msvcr71.dll in the correct place.

Not sure where thw mscvr71.dll is supposed to go as a search on my computer has one in c:\program files\foobar & c:\windows\system32.

Maybe put it in both to be safe - foobar works on my system.

Hope this helps

Ah, yeah. I did that. :shock: Not. For some reason, the only place onm my system with that file was in a Medio demo folder.

Works now. Thanks!

Funny, I thought the big Foobar download I grabbed came with WMA support, but, it seems not to. Any ideas?

Tony,

I have only tried foobar once or twice with xlobby and don't know much about it. The big interest with foobar is its ability to 'replay gain'.

I use winamp because i use the winlyrics plugin. I hide all winamp windows execpt the winlyrics one which i run full screen. I then have an alt-tab type setup on my remote. When everybody is drunk , they all think they can sing.
