Showing overlay/screen on second monitor

Postby fsamuelsson on Tue Nov 13, 2007 2:07 pm

Hi !

I am using caller id plugin and would like to display the overlay when somebody calls on my secondary monitor. My setup is this, i have a 7" touchscreen that is my primary monitor, this one shows xlobby and also a screen to control zoomplayer when zoomplayer starts. My second monitor conected to the same dual dvi graphics card is connected to 50" plasma. It´s on this display i want the caller id info to be displayed on top. And not on the primary monitor. Any ideas ???

I think I read on one post somewhere else (about putting the slideshow on a second screen) that if you offset the X and Y positions the correct amount for the overlay screen, it should be able to be moved to the othe screen.

Hi !

Yes that works but the overlay dosen´t seem to get on top, it works if no video is playing, but maybe thats more due to the config in zoomplayer, thanx ill see if i can sort the windows in the right order :)

I don't use zoomplayer, but it probably has some "keep window on top" setting, like TheatreTek has.

ZP does have a "Stay on Top" setting although I believe it is turned off by default. You can check by right clicking on the ZP screen and selecting "Stay on Top" or hit Alt-T a couple times. Depending on your renderer, you may not be able to ever have other apps on top - I'm pretty sure VMR9 Renderless Exclusive locks everything else out, maybe others too. I'm certainly no expert on the different rendering modes though so you may need to ask your question in the Inmatrix forums.

The other option would be to try and use the ZP OSD directly to display your CallerID info. There are a couple sendmessage commands for ZP that allow you pop the OSD with a 'message' of your choice and then to close the OSD. You could create an event in Xlobby to send the commands to ZP with the text from the CallerID plugin. See here for the ZP sendmessage interface: http://forum.inmatrix.com/index.php?sho ... st&p=19602

good luck,

Yeh it seem that you are right i use wrm9 windowless and i can´t get it to fall back into the background. I looked at the osd function but i must say i think i lack the skill to do this, looked at the settings in the event for zoomplayer that is installed in xlobby, but i coulden´t see a pattern to the numbers on the link that you posted. if anyone here feels like a champ and wants to take up the chalenge iam up for testing :) maybe lars that wrote the plugin can help out !!
