You will need the new exe

http://www.xlobby.com/xlobby2.zip

and you will also need to update your spiders

Just go to the advanced spider section when editing a db, and click a spider...( I suggest amazon-dvd, since I just fixed that one up) and uncheck the check box if you want to redo all the covers.

Good night, before I can type a response you've coded a solution!
OK, so now I've offered some beta testing, here goes...
BTW, is there some way I can backup the work I've done so far before moving ahead with this?

Since you have already download some covers or set their locations....I would leave the "ignore current coverart" box checked off, that way xlobby will not overwrite coverart that is currently set.

In terms of backing up coverart that is properly set "just in case" I can't think of a way to do that. "Maybe" you could do a search for jpgs on your drive and then store the results in a zip file...therefore storing the original paths and files in a zip file to later unzip later if hell breaks loose....BUT iv'e never tried that...so its just a theory and I dont know if it would work.

Good idea- I'll give it a shot. If I can get a successful backup, with saved paths I'll try the new functionality. I'm 3/4 there now so don't want to lose my work. Then again, I'd much rather finish this in an automated way, so its defintely worth the effort.

Is there a way to set the path to which the covers are saved? By default it saves the cover with the movie files, but I have 11 disks in a media server that are spun down. Every time I launch Xlobby, it spins up all 11 drives to generate the thumbs.

I'd love to store my covers somewhere in the Xlobby directory structure (in a "covers" subfolder), so it would load much more quickly. Would it be possible to allow a "set default cover path" or "use local covers subdirectory" option for the spiders? Right now I'm doing this manually gradually, but it's a bit painful for the 400+ movies I have right now...
